Eviction Protection and Rental Assistance: Yesterday, the State Legislature passed legislation to extend California's current eviction moratorium to September 30, 2021. San Francisco has extended its eviction moratorium through December 31, 2021.
In addition, the state has provided a rental assistance program to help Californians pay back 100% of their unpaid rent. This program still has funds available, so do not hesitate to apply; even if you have roommates, the program can cover your portion of the rent during the pandemic. Covered California: Thanks to the American Rescue Plan, Californians who received Unemployment Insurance in 2021 may qualify for a Silver 94 plan for only $1 a month. Visit Covered California's website to learn more and apply.
