OEWD is creating space for budget conversations and they will be holding three virtual public budget discussions to share their work and to hear directly from you to inform their budget priorities. Their budget for fiscal years 2021-2023 will include investments to deliver relief to workers and businesses, strengthen our diverse neighborhoods, support local nonprofits, build pathways to living-wage careers for our residents, make it easier to start and grow businesses of all sizes in our city, and create spaces for jobs, recreation, community benefits, and affordable housing.
The budget process is a key period in realizing our priorities in these crucial areas. They are reaching out to invite you to attend OEWD’s budget discussions at the following times:
2:30 PM, Thursday, January 28
6:00 PM, Thursday, February 4
10:00 AM, Friday, February 12
The first two meetings are an opportunity for you to share your observations, opinions, and priorities on our budget - early on in the process. In the third meeting, we’ll share how that feedback informed our final budget proposal and provide more detail on our proposed financial commitments for fiscal years 2021-22 and 2022-23.
These events are fully open to the public. Please register through Zoom in advance using the links above. And, if you have any disabilities or language-specific needs, please let us know at least three (3) days before the event so that we may provide appropriate services. If you are unable to attend any of our meetings, we still encourage you to reach out to us at oewd@sfgov.org to voice your thoughts, wishes, and priorities for the upcoming fiscal year.
