Did you catch us on TV? The Richmond Neighborhood Center, along with several local community organizations, local characters, and small businesses, was featured on KTVU’s morning program last Friday! Yves Xavier, our Community Programs Director, and Cliff Yee, Board President, were interviewed on KTVU’s Zip Trip to the Richmond District, showcasing the incredible work our community is doing together.
During the segment, we were able to highlight our vital food security programs such as home delivered groceries for homebound seniors and people with disabilities. Cliff spoke about our youth programs in 10 public schools. Our One Richmond SELF Shop Eat Local First program, which supports over 70 local merchants, was also introduced. It was especially rewarding to see legacy businesses from the Richmond District, like Hamburger Haven and Green Apple Books, get the recognition they deserve.
We were also lucky enough to plug our upcoming fundraiser—Wine on the Westside! This event is shaping up to be one of the most anticipated of the year. Join us for an evening of wine, entertainment, and the community spirit that makes the Richmond District so special. Tickets are on sale now, so don’t miss out on this fabulous event!
Special shoutout to the KTVU team—André Senior & Gasia Mikaelian, Frank Mallicoat, who quizzed us with some great trivia, and Sal Castaneda, who had so many amazing food recommendations. We’ve always known how great The Richmond is—now everyone else does too!
